Prees CE Primary School visit SJT

We recently welcomed pupils from Prees CE Primary School to SJT for a transition event. The Year 5 pupils spent the morning learning about Tudor games in a Design and Technology session with Mrs Barlow. The pupils worked in small groups in order to create a chess board. They first chose their chess piece and stenciled this onto some thin plywood, before securing the piece into a jack and carefully using a small saw to cut out their design. Working together they then fixed it to a base before assembling the pieces to replicate a Tudor chess board. The Prees pupils were very enthusiastic and engrossed in the activity!
