It is always joyous celebrating the realisation of the talent we always knew they had, seeing the students able to move onto the exciting and varied courses they have chosen and the smiles on faces.
Sir John Talbot’s Sixth Form Students Celebrate Outstanding A Level Success – 2026
There was a real sense of excitement and celebration at Sir John Talbot’s School today as students received their A Level results and looked ahead to the next chapter of their journeys.
Students achieved an impressive set of results, reflecting the dedication, perseverance and ambition they have shown throughout their time in the Sixth Form. Their achievements have opened doors to a wide range of exciting opportunities, including university places, higher apprenticeships, employment and specialist training programmes.
Whether progressing into science, engineering, education, business, the creative industries or other career pathways, students are leaving Sir John Talbot’s with a bright future ahead.
Headteacher, Tim Stonall, said:
“Today is a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of our students. These results are the culmination of years of hard work, commitment and determination. We are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished and wish them every success for the future.
As a sixth form, we are able to offer a personalised experience, combining strong academic provision with close pastoral support and guidance. Students are known as individuals, enabling us to help them thrive both academically and personally. Our collaboration with The Grove School Sixth Form further strengthens the opportunities available to students, giving them access to a broader curriculum and wider experiences while maintaining the supportive environment that helps them succeed. We are developing personalisation further still with our Open 6 offer.
Today’s results are a testament to the dedication of our students, staff and families, and to the strength of that partnership. Their achievements extend far beyond examination results. They have contributed to school life, supported one another and demonstrated the values that make our school community so special.”
Among this year’s cohort are students who have achieved exceptional academic outcomes, as well as many who have surpassed their personal expectations and reached goals they set for themselves when they began their sixth form journey.
We are incredibly proud of all our students’ achievements this summer. Among the many successes, we would like to highlight the outstanding results of the following students:
Callum Nicolson – A* A* A* (Biological Sciences, Loughborough University)
Elektra Hughes – A* A* A (French and English Literature, The University of Edinburgh)
Mehtab Chatha – A A A B (Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, The University of Birmingham)
Josh Reeves – A B B (Aerospace Engineering, The University of Liverpool)
Head of Sixth Form, Chelsea Lyons, added:
“We are delighted to see our students rewarded for the effort they have invested in their studies. They have embraced every opportunity available to them and have shown resilience, maturity and ambition throughout their time with us.
As they move on to the next stage of their education, training or careers, we know they will continue to achieve great things. We are extremely proud of the young people they have become and the determination they have shown in reaching this milestone.”
The school would also like to thank staff, families and the wider community whose encouragement and support have played an important role in helping students achieve their success.
Prospective students and families are also warmly invited to attend our Sixth Form Open Evening on 8 October 2026 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm to discover more about the opportunities available and meet our staff and students.
